The Holocaust, an unheard example of industrially executed terror, was the tragedy of mankind, Hungarians and Jews as well”, said Deputy PM Tibor Navracsics, Minister of Public Administration and Justice in Budapest during the commemoration of the Holocaust organized at the House of Terror Museum last Sunday.
The delegation of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) attended the March of the Living from Auschwitz to Birkenau in Poland on April 28, 2014. The program, which was organized by the International March of the Living Foundation, was held for the twenty-seventh time in Poland. Participants – Christians and Jews, adults and youth, survivors and descendants – came from more than fifty countries to commemorate the Holocaust.
Deputy State Secretary Gergely Prőhle received Douglas Davidson, Special Envoy for Holocaust Issues from the US Department of State, on April 24, 2014. Mr Prőhle informed his guest about the current Holocaust Memorial Year in Hungary.
On the occasion of the Memorial Day for the Hungarian Victims of the Holocaust, a plaque was installed remembering child victims and teachers rescuing children in secondary schools of Makó and Pécs this Wednesday.
